Too Much Iron In Your Water?

You might have the following observations or concerns due to high iron levels in your water supply:

·         You might observe orangish or brownish stains in the bathtub, sink, or other bathroom fittings

·         Due to iron your drinking water might have a slightly metallic taste

·         You might be concerned that your pipes or water heaters might get damaged due to high iron levels in the water.

The iron levels in your water should not be greater than 0.3 ppm (parts per million), which is the maximum contaminant level suggested by the EPA. Values above 0.3 ppm cross the standard level.

Various solutions exist to protect your plumbing fixtures and decrease iron content in water. One such solution is the Pentek RFFE20-BB Cartridge. Not only it helps to minimize the brownish orangish stain in sinks and tubs etc., but it also minimizes any chances of damage to your pipes or heater. Additionally up to 3ppm iron dissolved in water can be reduced by the cartridge. The best part is that cartridge doesn’t introduce any chemicals in the water, so the drinking water’s safety is not compromised at all.

Pentek RFFE20-BB Cartridge should be used along with Pentek 20-inch Big Blue Filter Housing. This cartridge is installed just after the pressure tank or water meter on the main cold water line. For optimum results, it is advised to carry sediment removal before installation and carbon treatment after installation.
