Water Testing in Descanso, CA

What to Test For in Descanso Wells

The geology in Descanso — granite and metamorphic bedrock — directly determines what contaminants you're likely to find in your well water.

Common Contaminants in Descanso

Based on local geology and years of testing Descanso wells, here's what we typically find:

• Water hardness: 8-12 grains — this causes scale buildup on fixtures, water heaters, and appliances
• Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): 250-500 ppm — affects taste and can indicate other contaminants
• Specific to granite and metamorphic bedrock: low yields common, iron, moderate hardness
