What to Test For in Ramona Wells
The geology in Ramona — fractured granite and Santiago Peak volcanics — directly determines what contaminants you're likely to find in your well water.
Common Contaminants in Ramona
Based on local geology and years of testing Ramona wells, here's what we typically find:
- Water hardness: 8-15 grains — this causes scale buildup on fixtures, water heaters, and appliances
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): 300-600 ppm — affects taste and can indicate other contaminants
- Specific to fractured granite and Santiago Peak volcanics: iron, manganese, moderate hardness (8-15 grains)
